Her work weaves a tender dialogue between architecture, landscape, and perception, always in harmonious conversation with Nature.

Andréa finds her inspiration in the pure lines of the Mediterranean horizon, the rawness of natural materials, and the subtle dance of light in Japanese architecture, discovered during a profound immersion in the Japanese archipelago. She also draws from the serene harmony of Finnish landscapes, where she lived for a year during her studies, embracing their quiet stillness.

Born and raised on the sunlit shores of the Mediterranean, facing the Lérins Islands, Andréa’s roots reach back to the Greek island of Chios, homeland of her maternal grandparents. Drawn naturally to the symbolism of islands and the worlds they conjure, she dedicated her thesis to the Japanese art islands – Naoshima, Teshima, Inujima – places that deeply moved and fascinated her. These islands also inspired her final degree project, set at the heart of Sainte-Marguerite Island, facing Cannes — an island she knows intimately from exploring it throughout her childhood. Graduating from the National School of Architecture Paris-Val de Seine, her project was selected for the Best Final Projects exhibition in 2017.

Before stepping into independence, Andréa refined her sensibility and craft within several renowned studios in France and abroad. Her journey took her through Paris and Tokyo, participating in a spectrum of projects—from intimate homes to museum scenographies, from cultural architecture to communal spaces—which strengthened her transversal and poetic approach to space. These diverse experiences deepened her reflections on materiality, rhythm, and the vital connection between architecture and life.

Within this continuum, she founded Atelier ChiMa, an independent atelier where she freely explores notions of balance, perception, and connection. Here, she leads an experimental approach, attentive to textures, light, and human interaction, where each creation unfolds as a narrative, a singular territory — a sensitive island in resonance with its environment.

These architectural islands emerge as fluid compositions, where volumes, openings, and pathways intertwine gracefully, breathing vibrant energy into each place, sparking a resonant dialogue between the built and the living. Together, they form an archipelago of sensitive experiences, open dialogues and shared explorations.

The name ChiMa, inspired by Japanese, evokes the island (shima), yet combines Chi, the flow of natural energy with Ma, the interval between things, the void as a perceptible and living space. This symbolic harmony reflects the very spirit of the atelier, a space for breath, dialogue, and resonance between places, beings, and elements.

["post-203","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
